Final Evaluation of the “Terre d’Entente” project on land conflict transformation in the Great Lakes region (2017)
“Terre d’Entente” was a project commissioned by Search for Common Ground (“Search”) in the Great Lakes region in Africa. It was implemented between July 2012 and June 2017 in collaboration with three governmental partners, three civil society partners or traditional leaders’ associations, and 16 community radio stations. The objective of the project was to “support the legitimate governments of the Great Lakes region so that they [had] the capacity to fulfil essential state functions.”
CMC was contracted to carry out the final project evaluation in 2017 after the end of its implementation, to provide learning for the implementation team and ensure accountability for the project to its stakeholders. In the evaluation, CMC looked at the extent to which the project had been successful in bringing about change in the transformation of land conflict in the Great Lakes region, as well as considered its effectiveness, impact, and sustainability. Moreover, the evaluation focused on identifying lessons learned from the project and providing recommendations for future intervention purposes.
